There is a lot of noise on media about killing, destruction of property and looting. Perhaps a lot of mayhem in "Summer of Love" in 2020 and forward would not have happened if perpetrators were held accountable for their actions, after tragic events in Baltimore. Than we had an excellent opportunity to "take the temperature down" at that time. The major problem with Baltimore riots was that there were no consequences for the actions of young people against the Police.
Young people attacked the Law Enforcers with rock and variety of propellants. Police were called inappropriate names and destruction of property followed.
Youth chanted "Pigs in a blanket fried like a…" These young people were seeking attention. All of the participants made sure that their faces were on camera. This gave the law Enforcers great opportunity to be able to identify all of the participants. Because of their auctions community suffered great losses. The CVS drugstore as well as adjacent businesses were set on fire and burned.
In the aftermath of confrontation, one mother saw it fit to grab her son by his hair and told him to "Get out of here and go home."
The next thing that needed to happen is for the Mayor of Baltimore to invite the participants to the City Hall, issue then a nice orange-jump suit. Once they were dressed, perhaps put nice ankle bracelets and tether them. Take them to the site of previous day of destruction and have them clean up the mess. Give them a respite of few days, than bring them back to City Hall. Give them attire and take them back to the cleared site. Bring bricks mortar and other construction materials and have the youth rebuild that which they had destroyed. In the process, some of the young people may have learn a trade for their future. Treat them to a nice Pizza party.
Maybe the 2020 so-called "Peaceful Protests" and forward incidents may not have happened. The chaos we experience daily may not happened.
If there were consequences, could it be that the most recent subway attack may have been averted?
