On Sunday, March 20 The Right Path for Washington County hosted our first post-COVID fundraiser for 2022. It felt amazing and we were blessed to be back at Spagna's for our 10th annual spaghetti dinner. The crowd and the crew, Spagna's staff, TRP board, WC Behavioral Health Board, Boy Scout Troop #207, friends of The Right Path, Robert Farley and Kevin Whitby added to the success of our incredible event.
Thank you to all our supporters, we couldn't do it without you.
I can't thank our community enough for your continued support of our prevention efforts to promote healthy youth development.
Healthy mind, spirit and body begin with healthy choices and ensuring there is fresh food and fresh produce to help youth begin to think about what they put in their bodies. Our fundraising will provide summer pool parties, our annual Block Party and our mini farmers' markets loaded with fresh fruits and vegetables from our local markets.
Stay tuned for updates and start dates; you won't want to miss summer 2022. Pat Horner, our DJ and Premier Productions as well as Doug Terrell with Wendy's will be back with us. IHeart media, WMOA and our community partners will be on hand to ensure a summer of adventure.
Saturday, April 2 found The Right Path for Washington County back at Belpre Kroger for our 10th annual Righditrod, our own "race against hunger." Teams of 5 pick a theme, dress in costume and decorate their shopping cart to reflect their theme. Teams shop items needed by community food pantries and perform silly challenge all in the name of fun to shine the light on hunger in our county.
Special thanks to Justin Skinner, Kroger Corporate office and personnel who helped make this a wonderful event. Thanks to Wendy's, IHeart Media and Little Caesar's for helping to promote the event and hosting challenge sites, respectively. The teams were amazing and the WC Health Dept. blew it out of the water!
We will be back at Kroger in 2023 and hope to see you there! Help us change the face of hunger.
On Friday May 13, our lucky day, The Right Path will be back at the VFW Ronnie Davis Post #5108, with our annual Fish Fry fundraiser, all you can eat for $12/person! This has been a signature event for us for as long as I can remember, without the 2 year COVID hiatus this may be our 14th year. We are excited to be back with Wilda, Jill and the great staff of the VFW. Our board will bread fish, fry, wash dishes, prep and serve and clean up! The fish is yummy and the atmosphere is friendly, what more could you ask for? Did I mention its $12/person AND ALL YOU CAN EAT?!
Ed Williams will be our auctioneer and live entertainment will be provided by WC Behavioral Health Board member Singer/Songwriter, Michael Beardmore. Jill Miller donated our beautiful auction items; hand painted by her mother and local artist, Helen Smith, for our live auction.
This will be an amazing night you won't want to miss. Join us 5-8 p.m., Friday, May 13. You won't want to miss the food, fun and fellowship. It doesn't get any better than this!
