On June 2 the Board of Commissioners, other elected officials, and roughly 200 citizens, attended an Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) public meeting on an application to permit a new injection well in Washington County.
The following week (June 9), the Commissioners issued a public statement naming DeepRock Disposal Solutions, LLC as the applicant for this permit. While the company had submitted an application earlier in the year, it had subsequently been withdrawn and the June 2 meeting was held in relation to an application from a separate company.
For that error, and for the undue attention it caused DeepRock, the Board of Commissioners would like to apologize. DeepRock is a locally owned and operated company in good standing and is unrelated to the current application for permit.
