It’s not the guns
For the past several years I’ve tried to ignore all of the inane blather by left wing socialists, but the letter in the Wednesday, June 8 Marietta Times can’t go and blame the lawlessness in our country on an inanimate object, guns, by saying “it’s the guns, stupid.” I’d like to just say “it’s not the guns, stupid!”
It’s the socialists who hamstring law enforcement by advocating defunding the police. It’s liberal prosecutors who won’t use all of the laws that are already on the books.
Only a miniscule percentage of gun laws already on the books are ever used that could take dangerous criminals off of the streets for years. It’s namby-pamby judges who continually slap habitual career criminals off the streets, it’s permissive parents and teachers who won’t discipline children in their formative years. It’s video game makers and Hollywood who glorify violence and lawlessness and desensitize our children to death and killing.
Whenever someone use a vehicle to run down multiple pedestrians, there’s no clamor to ban cars saying, “it’s the cars, stupid.” If someone uses poison to kill multiple victims its not, “it’s the poison, stupid.” Only when a firearm is involved do we blame an inanimate object.
I’ve been in very close proximity to guns all my life, and never has one of them ever attacked me!
Since the author of the letter brought up another subject in her letter. I’ll also incorporate it into my reply.
While the murder of ten-year- olds is horrific, deplorable, cowardly, and unacceptable, the same left wingers who want to take away million of law-abiding Americans’ constitutional right to self-defense, have no compunction in condoning or even promoting the slaughter of millions of much younger children. A.K.A. abortion!
These socialist activists need to focus their outrage where it should be, upon fixing the evils of our promiscuous society, on a legal system that won’t do its job and on teaching our children right from wrong.
“It’s not the guns stupid!”
