Prepare for Election Day
Election Day is fast approaching, Tuesday, Nov. 8. Are you ready? Are you registered to vote? Check your registration at voteohio.gov. You must be registered to vote by Tues. Oct. 11 to vote in the Nov. 8 election.
This is one of the most important elections of your life. How you vote will determine the direction of American democracy. Ask yourself some questions.
If you do not know the answers, research and find out.
Does the candidate you are thinking of voting for believe in democracy, free and fair elections, the rule of law or is he/she an election denier, not willing to have a peaceful transfer of power?
Does the candidate you are thinking of voting for believe in the U.S. Constitution or is he/she willing to allow the Supreme Court to take rights away; a woman's right to choose, contraception, marriage equality, and voting rights.
Does the candidate you are thinking of voting for believe in telling the truth or lying, using alternative facts, conspiracy theories or statements with no factual basis.
I ask you to vote Democrat this election. All the Democratic candidates believe in protecting our democracy (Tim Ryan, Jeff Crossman, Taylor Sappington), believe in the rule of law and the peaceful transfer of power (Chelsea Clark, Scott Schertzer), support the U.S. Constitution and the rights it gives each citizen (Nan Whaley, Cheryl Stephens, Lou Lyras), and each one believes in telling the truth (Justice Brunner, Judge Jamison, Judge Zayas). Vote Blue for democracy, justice and truth!
Early voting starts Wednesday, Oct. 12 at the Board of Elections in your county. You may early vote up to and including Monday, Nov. 7.
Don't forget -- There are two statewide Issues on the Ohio ballot. Issue 1, determining bail amount based on public safety amendment. Issue 2, to prohibit local government from allowing non-electors to vote. Refer to ballotpedia.org/ohio--2022--ballot--measures to get more information.
