The Zonta Club of the MOV would like to thank the community for their continued support of our bi-annual clothing sale, the Unique Boutique.
This is one of our largest fundraisers, and all the proceeds benefit our service projects, including scholarships to Washington State Community College. These scholarships benefit non-traditional female college students. We also work to raise awareness for the need of feminine hygiene products, undies and bras in the area with our Delicates for Dignity project. The Zonta Club of the MOV also awards the Betty Hadler Woman of the Year Award at the annual Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce dinner in the spring.
Thanks to all of our loyal individual supporters who continue to give donations to our sale each year. We truly could not have this sale without the support of the community donations. This year was another sale of tremendous donations of clothing in which we are truly humbled. We would like to thank these supporters and volunteers: WMOA Radio, Jacob Krantz and WTAP, Marietta Times, Marietta Township Community Center and trustees, McCarthy Real Estate, Advantage Real Estate and all of our outside volunteers who helped haul our equipment and helped sort and hang clothes all week. All of the remaining clothing was donated to Coats for Kids, Latrobe Street Mission, Trading Post Thrift Store Marietta, Soles for Souls shoe project and Church of Christ African Mission Project. Also, gift certificates were given to area agencies for those most in need.
The success of the event would not be possible without the continued support of all our Zonta members, their families and friends. Our next sale will be Nov. 3-4, with donations being accepted Oct. 30 through Nov. 2 at the Marietta Township Community Center. Look for announcements and updates on our Facebook page about donation drop-off times. We hope to see you there.
