Past and present seem to co-exist. At times, we are reminded of something distant past by present circumstances. As I was listening to the News of the Day, there was discussion about loyalty. It immediately spurred me to think of a play I had seen many years ago, while we lived in PD (Displaced Persons) camp in Northern Germany. Many evening we saw plays presented by the camp residence. No, they were not performances by professional movie Stars. These plays were performed by DP Camp residents. Performers were rather talented. The scripts were brought from the country we had fled. We fled from onslaught of Soviet Communism.
To pivot to the distant past. At that time, I was perhaps seven or eight years of age when I saw the performance by Latvian refugees.
The three ladies came onto the stage, representing love faith and loyalty. Each seemed to have an enchanting air about them. All were very pretty. They explained the importance of their mission. The first lovely lady explained the importance of love in our lives. She was followed by another beautiful lady who explained the importance of faith. When loyalty stepped forward, she seemed to be less vibrant to the point of appearing rather sad. When she spoke, she said, "This Earths' children's loyalty seems to be fleeting as is ones' shadow.'"
As it has been in the past loyalty, seems paramount today.
Loyalty to ones' vocation is not just staying with particular company for a long time, although it might be.
It is also to make company a better place to work as well as make it productive.
There is also loyalty to one's family, friends and others who inhabit this planet called Earth. In today's world, loyalty seems to be relegated to the past. At the same time, loyalty is needed more than ever.
