To Lower Salem Township trustees:
I am very upset with the way the roads are taken care of in your township. Not only have you not cleaned out the ditches, but you also have not made the road able to drain in major rain and flooding. I am well aware that you have had the residents in your township come to meetings and plead with you to take care of their roads.
I went down to Long Run Road on 5/12/2023 to see my parents who live there. Since LAST SUMMER when there was a flood the road has not been fixed. There is no drainage on the road. The water runs down the road and makes huge ditches in the road. If you go north on Long Run Road from German Town Road, you will see the issues.
The road to my knowledge has not had the ditches cleaned out in years. Also, the road is not angled for the water to run off of it. There are people that live full time on Long Run Road and in an emergency situation there is a possibility that, with the way the road is currently, the emergency squad may have issues getting though.
I come from northeastern Ohio once a month and spend a week with my parents. I have been doing this for over 3 years. I have never seen the road in such disrepair. I do not vote in your district, but my parents live and vote and the fact that you have not taken care of the road is ridiculous. They have been to meetings asking for you to do your job. Yet, you have yet to do it.
It is your job to take care of the roads in your township. You chose the responsibility now do your job. I have taken pictures of what I am talking about so that you are well aware of the issues. I also took pictures of Short Cut Road. To my knowledge no one lives down there. But it is impassable without an ATV.
I require you to take action now. Do your job and take care of your township. This is ridiculous that it has come to me sending this letter out.
The people that voted you in want you to do your job. So, DO IT. Also, you are responsible for the road by St. Henry's in Hariettsville. You should be ashamed of yourselves. That road has never been good. There is no way to pass another car on that hill. If you get too far over you will go in a hole. Brum Baugh Road is the name of it.
It is an utter disappointment that these people of your township voted you in and you can't even take care of what they put in your care. I do not have pictures of Brum Baugh Road but I can guarantee you that if you don't get yourselves together that will be the next batch of pictures I send.
