The Castle Museum grateful for participation in Historic Marietta Tour of Homes

The Castle Museum would like to acknowledge everyone for their participation in this year's Historic Marietta Tour of Homes on Memorial Day weekend. First, a huge thanks to all of the homeowners whose generosity and willingness to share their beautiful homes with the public made this entire event possible. Thanks to Deana Clark and the Marietta-Washington County CVB for their ad buys and marketing assistance with other statewide resources. Thanks to Bruce Wunderlich for his beautiful photography that we used in our brochure and to the Ditchendorf family for sponsoring its printing.
Thanks to Marty's Print Shop for the last-second reprinting of extra programs due to larger-than-expected sales. Thanks to our Castle staff, marketing and programs committees and the Butlers at New South Media for their great efforts. A special thank you to Judy Piersall for her wonderful descriptions of each house and for reaching out to each of the homeowners. A thank you also goes out to all those who gave her house suggestions as well as providing historical background information on the residences.
The sense of community that this tour generated was exciting to see among everyone involved, including homeowners, guests, volunteers, and businesses/organizations alike.
Several visitors from out of the area commented about random people they encountered throughout our town who were so helpful and friendly wherever they went.
Our tour brought in not only locals, but a large number of out-of-towners (from at least 8 states) to support Marietta tourism. It also fostered a greater appreciation of our historic town.
We sold 530 tickets this year, a 28% increase over combined sales across two weekends in 2019. Again, we can't thank everyone enough for assisting us in providing this great experience for our tour participants and our entire town!
