Thank you

By Jay Phillips 1 min read

On behalf of all the board members and volunteers of the BJFM (Blues, Jazz and Folk Music) Society here in Marietta, we want to thank all those involved with making our BITS (Blues In The Schools) program successful again. We were blessed to have Rev. Robert Jones, Sr. from Detroit, Mich., present to over 2,000 students in the Marietta-Parkersburg area. We started again after COVID, visiting five schools and the Washington County Juvenile Detention Center. We also had a Cobbler's Coffeehouse performance by Rev. Jones that raised money to do BITS again next year.

This year besides the monetary support from our society, we had generous donations from Pickering and Associates, MPLX Marathon Petroleum, Solvay Specialty Polymers, WVU-Camden Clark Medical Center, Belpre Rotary Club, Mother Earth Foods, and a private donation from Ms. Sharon Moore.

We also appreciate the support from the Parkersburg News and Sentinel, Marietta Times, and WOUB Public Media. Our society is pleased to be able to share this mix of music, history, and entertainment with the youth of our area and we look forward to continuing it in the future.

Starting at /week.
