The United States has given over a hundred billion dollars to Ukraine to help them survive the brutal unceasing attacks and invasion of the Russians under the direction of dictator Putin.
Nearly half of that has been military aid. The rest humanitarian. That is an avalanche of cash to you and me but it is less than half our NATO friends have given and it amounts to 0.65 percent of our federal spending for the year.
Before we helped, Ukraine turned back the Russian murderers and rapists. Now with NATO's , and our assistance, Ukrainians have driven them from much of which they invaded but the struggle continues. With our using a minor bit of our budget we are helping a free people struggling to preserve democracy, to actually survive.
Presently, we have some loud folks in Congress who have trouble with the concept of democracy even here in the U.S. They want to stop what is our best investment in our own security.
Let those loud folks rant and run to t.v. cameras. For us as private citizens let's speak, leave messages, emails -- whatever it takes, tell Bill Johnson if he truly has any honor and proclaimed love of democracy and security for friends and us to support big funding for Ukraine.
Remember this: Putin has promised his captive citizenry to put borders back to the USSR positions. Hungry, Czechoslovakia and half of Germany would be under a Russian dictator. NATO would be in total war.
It would be WWIII. Not supporting Ukraine is crazy capitulation and abandonment of all this country has strived to be.
