Dear Parents and Students,
I would like to take a moment to recognize all of the great accomplishments of our Marietta High School students this Fall. Over the past few months, our student athletes and musicians have demonstrated exceptional dedication, teamwork and sportsmanship. These traits combined with thrilling victories and hard fought battles, our students have shown what it truly means to be a Marietta Tiger!
Below are just a few highlights of our Fall Achievements:
1. Olivia Emery & Jenna Jackson qualifying for the D-2 Tennis State Championship
2. Saylor Wharff qualified for the D-1 Golf State Championship
3. Marietta Wall of Sound for qualifying and earning a II at the State Competition.
4. Marietta Vocal Point selected to perform on the main stage at the Kettering National A Cappella.
5. Ezra Minard & Charles Putnam qualifying for the D-1 State Cross Country Championship
6. Football team qualified for State Playoffs
7. The Girls Soccer Team won Sectionals, Districts & Finished Regional Finalist
8. The Boys Soccer Team won Sectionals, Districts & Regional participant
9. Volleyball Team won Sectionals, Districts and Finished Regional Finalist
10. Maureen Caslow just committed to tow for The Ohio State University Crew team.
11. Jr. High Golf won the Wood County League Championship
Other Highlights:
¯ Senior Alexis Cruz for being a commended Student in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program.
¯ Mrs. Mayer's EMT students went to the rescue of a motorcyclist, who needed medical assistance at the end of the school day.
¯ Raodat Sarker named WTAP academic achiever of the week.
¯ 8th Grade Students had the opportunity to visit Gettysburg
¯ Congratulations to Homecoming King (Zane Wittekind) and Queen (Izzy Becker)
¯ Student Athletes visited our 3 Elementary Schools spending time with students during lunch and recess
¯ Student Organizations and Student Athletes holding trunk or treat for Elementary Students and our community
¯ Peer mentoring and Peer tutoring of students
¯ Students have attended leadership seminars with Dr. Phil Campbell, The Ohio State Leadership Collaborative and Herff Jones
As you can see, this is just the few highlights of the fall for our Tigers The Faculty and Staff could not be prouder of our students and student athletes with their tremendous effort that each individual has put into representing the Tiger Way. Our Student Leaders have really focused on changing the culture at Marietta High School and each leader is focused on the Tiger Way and what it means to represent the school uniform and our school community.
Please join me in congratulating all of these students and their great accomplishments as well as the coaching staffs who sacrificed their time and efforts with their respective programs.
I have said this once and I will say it again -- there is no better place to be right now than Marietta High School. Our student body is a direct reflection of these great accomplishments listed above.
