The Dec. 9 edition of The Marietta Times saw yet another opinion piece in a letter to the editor. In this piece, the writer compared former president Trump to Adolf Hitler. This is completely ridiculous! Whether one liked or disliked former President Trump and his policies, most reasonable people would agree it is ridiculous to compare Mr. Tump to Adolf Hitler. Although all people are entitled to an opinion about former President Trump's policies, it is foolish to compare them to the vile and evil policies of Hitler.
The entire comparison falls under the false analogy fallacy (apples to oranges), making the entire analogy invalid.
To further the lack of real logic within the writer's "arguments" is the almost constant use of ad hominems. Most of what the writer said were ad hominems.
Instead of supporting the view he is trying to make, the ad hominems just makes him look ignorant and make all his points completely invalid.
The lack of valid arguments and logic within his piece is the proof you truly need to understand the ridiculousness of what he is trying to say. To the writer: I do not write this to humiliate you nor do I write it to hurt your reputation.
Instead, I write it to show the people of Marietta the lack of knowledge and logic you put into your arguments and to keep them from going down the wrong path, because of the false arguments within your piece.
