Nohe, the right choice for sheriff
Leadership, experience and passion, this definition = Greg Nohe. We need more of this and Greg Nohe is the person who can deliver. New leadership with Greg leading will be beneficial as too many years of the “same old thing, we have always done it this way”. This makes for no future improvements, which I am sure we all agree.
Greg is an Army veteran. A former paratrooper, and MP who served this country in Panama for two years and then finished his military time at Fort Bragg. He then came to the City of Marietta Police Department and worked his way up the ranks and retired as the Captain of the Police Department in 2016. He decided he wanted to continue to serve and was hired as the Jail Administrator for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. His leadership experience is what sets him aside from his opponent. Greg has worn many hats during his career but has never bragged about it. During my time working with Greg as Auditor of the City of Marietta, I never heard any negative remarks about him.
The opposition says “we can do better”. Why hasn’t he tried to do so? Why hasn’t he tried since he has so many years of employment with the Sheriff’s department? Let’s not talk the talk. Just do it!
Just remember that all those advertisements, yard signs, and all the donations do not make up a good candidate. It’s the integrity, knowledge, and experience. I don’t think we need to take up columns in this newspaper to explain, so I will say Greg has all of the qualifications needed to be the Sheriff and Chief Law Enforcement officer of the County. He has budgetary and administrative experience and will adhere to the principals of the department. As the previous Jail Administrator, he was responsible for all aspects of the jails operations as well as the safety of the inmates and officers alike, so he understands the corrections aspect of the job.
The employees will never feel isolated, disrespected or mistreated with Greg at the helm. He will run a “tight ship”, but he will be fair, consistent, and honest and he will show all employees trust and respect. He will give credit where credit is due knowing that the office is only as good as the employees who work for it. Teamwork is the foundation of this job and by having the backs of his employees, Greg will create a world class department that will be second to none! Greg is one of the most caring individuals I have ever met. He is kind, compassionate, and respectful to everyone from our younger generation to our senior citizens. He is a good listener. His goal is to have open door office hours so residents can come in during special office hours to discuss issues.
Thank you in advance for your support of Greg Nohe. Greg is truly an asset to Washington County. Please join me in voting for Ronald “Greg” Nohe on March 19, 2024 as our choice for Sheriff of Washington County.
