Mr. Goldfield on his program the week of May 12 mentioned “The Planet of the Apes”. That reminded me of the day President Biden moved into the Whitehouse. That day the White house was being protected by the Military so that President Biden and his family could make an easy move.

As I turned on the television set, I thought I had turned on the movie channel instead of the news. I saw before my eyes a scene that must have been from a movie about the Planet of the Apes. Since all of us were experiencing the effect of COVID, everything seemed to take on life of its own.

It seemed to me that I was beholding a group of Apes as soldiers were in a crouch position with Barbed wire fence behind them. Since they were dressed OCP (Operational Camouflage Pattern) and wearing black masks with eyes wide open, they so resembled the residence of the planet of the Apes. It took me a while to come to terms that those were our fine soldiers who are ready to serve our country whenever or wherever they are needed.

Let all of us be grateful to our military personnel for their willingness and readiness to protect our freedom and wellbeing.
