I am thoroughly disgusted with the decision to use the Trump Parade as the headline in today’s (Monday, July 8) edition of The Marietta Times. At a time when our democracy is threatened by the obvious intent to move the government toward an autocratic state, journalists need to think carefully about what they glorify.

Please remember that in Putin’s Russia, journalists are often the first to be arrested or worse. Maybe that’s the distasteful truth … The Marietta Times aka News and Sentinel is hedging its bets.

Please report on the positive success of the Biden administration in bringing the country back after the pandemic. All Trump has ever done is flaunt the rule of law for his own benefit.
