Elks Americanism essay contest 2024
Patriotism, understanding and appreciation for one’s Country, is a valuable assets to our communities, our State and our Republic. Instilling it in our young Citizens is an opportunity to help ensure our most prosperous and secure future.
Your local friends and neighbors, Members of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge 477 in Marietta are sponsoring an immediate activity to do just that. All Washington County area students in grades 5, 6, 7, or 8 are invited to research, compose and submit an essay on the topic “What Patriotism means to me”. The deadline for submission is December 15, 2024.
We are providing local cash prizes and local winners may advance into State and National level competitions.
Application forms are available at the Lodge at 414 Colegate Drive, participating local schools and homeschool groups, or by calling 740-629-1277.
Our sincere wish is for every eligible young student to enter. This can be an exercise in research, English language vocabulary and grammar and punctuation, and beginning life long learning of the history and legacy of our Nation.
