WSCO students well-trained
Living in the Mid-Ohio Valley has many advantages including the public’s opportunity to experience student massages at the Washington State College of Ohio massage therapy program student therapist clinic. This allows the graduating students the hands-on experience needed to qualify for their state licensing exam. The students work under supervision.
The public can volunteer for the 50 minute massage, which is essential to the students education. Each spring during the months of February and March the clinic is open for the massages by well trained and professional students.
This program is geared toward the medical side of massage: Advanced Anatomy Knowledge, Advanced Massage Techniques, Therapeutic Techniques and include a wide range of specialties. Examples: geriatric, pediatric, pregnancy, lymphatic, and sports.
Jackie Krider took over the program 5 years ago. She is the program coordinator, professor and advisor to all her students.
I have participated for several years and found the students very professional and well trained — ready to enter their profession in the health field. Each spring I participate as part of my “stay well” activities!
