Harmar Days Festival

As the City Council representative for Marietta’s 4th Ward, I’m writing to express my enthusiastic support for this year’s Harmar Days Festival, happening July 25-27 in Harmar Village.

This festival is one of our community’s cherished summer traditions – full of live music, local vendors, family fun, and a spirit of neighborly pride. But more than that, Harmar Days serves a purpose that hits close to home for so many: raising funds to help restore the Historic Harmar Railroad Bridge.

Thanks to a recent state grant of nearly $1 million, we’re beginning to see real momentum toward reopening the bridge–but there’s still a long way to go. Community fundraising remains absolutely vital to keep this project moving forward and to make sure we can match future investment with local support.

The Harmar Bridge is more than just a piece of our past. It’s a symbol of connection between the west side and downtown, a vital link that brought people together – on foot, by bike, and by history. When the bridge closed, it left a visible and emotional gap. But through events like Harmar Days and the tireless work of the Historic Harmar Bridge Company, we’re one step closer to seeing that bridge brought back to life.

I’ll be attending and participating in the festival, and I encourage everyone to come out and show your support. Whether you’re enjoying the car show, food trucks, beer garden, artisan booths, or just soaking in the energy of Harmar’s streets, know that you’re part of something meaningful.

This isn’t just a weekend party–it’s a celebration of community, resilience, and a shared belief that our history is worth preserving and our neighborhoods are worth investing in.

See you in Harmar!
