Recycling trailer vandalized
The Warren Township trailer has been vandalized for a second time and is at risk for being removed once again.
The first time was due to contamination from someone’s bathroom remodeling. Pieces of the bathtub, rotten flooring, and pieces of concrete were placed in the trailer, which contaminated the contents of the trailer.
This morning, I was there when the Rumpke representative was there to haul the trailer away for shipment to Columbus where items would be sorted and recycled. We looked in the trailer today and a perpetrator had “dropped off” lumber scraps and a wooden sign, neither of which can be recycled. This makes the second time the contents of the trailer have been compromised and unable to be recycled. If this happens again, the representative stated that the trailer will be removed.
The trailer is clearly labeled with signage and pictures as to what is allowed to be recycled. I enjoy the privilege of using the trailer and would hate for it to be removed again due to blatant disrespect by a few.
