I would like to thank the organizers and participants of the recent Chuck A Duck fundraiser that was held last week at MHS by the Marietta Volleyball team in my honor. I recently had a cancer diagnosis increased to Stage 4. The volleyball coaches felt that the sports community of the city schools would like to express their support. My husband, Mark and I have photographed the sport teams in the community for over 40 years. We have met so many wonderful people. The coaches felt that many of these people would like to show their support and concern and “wow” were they right. The evening was so overwhelming and so many have reached out to me with cards and offer of help. I would like to thank the volleyball coaches for their thoughtfulness. These coaches have continued to be great role models for the girls. The athletes from this team as well as countless girls in previous years’ teams have learned the importance of kindness, community involvement and compassion. Again thank you so much supporting me and my family in this difficult time.
