Presidential quotes I won’t forget
Donald Trump said many things when he ran for president the first time. Two things that I never wanted to forget and wanted my descendants to always remember I engraved in my cabin wall. The first and I quote “don’t believe what you see and don’t believe what you hear believe what I tell you,” (In other words you aren’t smart enough to think for yourself.) The second and I quote “if you repeat something enough times even if it isn’t true eventually people will start believing it,” (such as the election was rigged and stolen from me. How many times have you heard that?)
Fast forward to 2025 and Trump’s second term as president where he is facing a stinging rebuke for his economic policies as republicans took a shellacking in the recent off year election. Typical Trump, everyone and everything is to blame but him.
When he campaigned for his second term as president he promised that grocery prices would go down his first day in office. That hasn’t happened and in fact they have increased. But no worry Trump is going back to the old playbook. Of course people who go grocery shopping every week don’t know what the prices are, only Trump knows. He says “this is the golden age in America, I don’t want to talk about affordability, prices are way down, our economy is thriving and republicans need to be saying this more often.”
But I don’t think the majority of people are buying it this time. Maybe just maybe for the first time in his life he is being held accountable for something.
I want to leave you with one more presidential quote. Our greatest republican president ever Abraham Lincoln said this. “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and you can fool all of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.”
I also engraved this quote on my cabin wall.
