The members of Marietta in Bloom want to publicly thank the following individuals, businesses, and organizations who, in 2026, supported our annual efforts to beautify the City of Marietta:
Mr. Russ Thomson and Mr. Larry Ohn, of Thomson’s Landscaping, once again sold Lantana, Profusion Zinnias and Bubblegum Pink Petunias, Coleus and other annuals at greatly reduced prices for planting in our gardens.
Mr. Jack Haessly, Haessly Hardwoods, provided loads of lovely mulch, free of charge, that were then delivered by the City of Marietta employees to our various planting locations!
Mr. Scott Miracle and numerous volunteers from Oriana House donated many hours of physical labor. These young men moved truckloads of topsoil, yards of mulch, trimmed large shrubs, removed weeds and enabled five members of Marietta in Bloom to prepare their various gardens for planting.
Mr. Fred Smith, working with Mr. Jerry Farmer, arranged for work crews, moved wheelbarrows loaded with dirt and/or mulch and assisted in various ways to prepare gardens for the planting of flowers. Members of Full Circle helped at the Sacra Via “walking” garden while clients at the Juvenile Center moved mulch at this same location.
Susan Fiel, Marietta Garden Club, planted petunias in the upper level at the Harmer planter.
Without the support and assistance of these individuals many of our gardens would still be unplanted!
Look for our M.I.B yard signs (green with bright orange/red zinnias) in our beds, planters and gardens listed below:
Triangle Bed at the intersection (split) of Front Street and Muskingum Drive;
Sacra Via garden located along the River Trail near Sacra Via;
a garden at the brick Marietta entrance sign on Pike Street near the entrance to Bridgeport;
a small bed below the Marietta entrance sign on Rt. 60 (Muskingum) across from Colegate Drive;
the large two level planter near the brick Marietta entrance sign between (Ft Harmar Drive) Rt. 7 and Barber near Market;
the large planter on Front Street at the Valley Gem parking lot;
the flower bed in front of the Salvation Army at 136 Front St.;
and finally the tall planter near the junction of Front and Fair Streets!
Finally we want to acknowledge the support of the City of Marietta for providing funds to replant the Pike Street entrance garden.
