Election Day is fast approaching, Nov. 3. Here is a chance for you to meet the candidates Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Marietta High School auditorium on Davis Avenue, Marietta. The candidates' forum is sponsored by Living Democracy: Engaging Citizens, a local nonpartisan group whose mission is to inform and educate citizens in the Mid-Ohio Valley about how our government and democracy work.
Meet the candidates for two Washington County Commissioner positions, Ohio House District 94 and US House of Representative District 2. The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions of one or all the candidates.
The candidates were sent invitations on Aug. 30 in hopes of giving them time to schedule this event with Washington County citizens. After the letter of invitation, three phone messages after the Sept. 15 deadline and a text contact at his Columbus office, Rep. Ritter, candidate for Ohio House 94 District, responded that he "will not be able to join you. I am scheduled at another event." Rep. Ritter will not be present to answer Washington County citizen concerns about protecting our drinking water from the toxic waste being pumped into injection wells daily. He will not be here to respond to questions about his involvement in the early (2023) communications with Jesse Roush at the Port Authority concerning Washington County and data center projects.
Join us Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m. for Meet the Candidates where you can ask questions of five Washington County Commissioner candidates, one Ohio House District 94 candidate and U.S. House of Representative District 2 candidates. Be an educated voter.
