Be part of the solution

I have volunteered at the Drop-In Center since its beginning. I am there one day a week and provide lunch one day a month. I am 91 years old and I have never felt unsafe. I would invite any council member (one at a time, we don’t have much space) to join us for lunch. The staff works very hard to direct and support clients to appropriate services to help problem-solve the many circumstances presented. The clients we see there point to a larger societal problem. How do we as a society support those less fortunate and disadvantaged? Some do have mental health issues. When Ohio ...

Support for security

As a member of this City Council, I support the need for security at the homeless drop-in center to ensure the safety of both those utilizing the facility and the surrounding community. Security is crucial, and I believe we should explore ways to improve it. I also acknowledge that the business district may not be the most suitable location for the center. Again, it’s worthy of a discussion. However, I am deeply concerned about the direction of some of the conversations surrounding homelessness, particularly the suggestion of a camping ban. Implementing such a ban may create the ...

Michael Kripchak for U.S. Congress

I am backing Michael Kripchak for congress, as he is the most qualified person running. Mike graduated from the Air Force Academy with a Distinguished Graduate in Physics and a Master’s from NYU-Tisch in Interactive Telecommunications. During his years in the service, he worked in Washington and knows how Washington works, meaning he knows how to get things done. It also means he can make actual informed decisions regarding any energy and climate legislation. He will find ways to protect and expand social security and Medicare, not cut it like the republicans have been trying to do ...

The new Reagan movie

Dear Editor, I went to see Reagan the movie and it was heartwarming, I laughed and I cried. It was a swell acted history lesson. I’m encouraging people to go.

Make America great and fair again

Do you want to spend big money for illegal immigrants, forgiving student loans, $20,000 for first time home buyers, false charges against Donald Trump and $600 for items for a new baby. This sure does not seem like a way to get people to work or watch what they spend their money for. It is a way of buying votes. Let’s get back to making America great and fair again. Donald Trump is who we need.

Washington County Recorder

I have known the Washington County Ohio Recorder since 2013. You could not find a better, upstanding, dedicated Elected Official in all of the Great State of Ohio. If you have not met Tracey Wright, you are missing out, she brightens up a room when she enters. And those that know her, know what I’m talking about. She represents Washington County with Honor and Integrity. I am pleased to call her my friend, and even more proud to call her My Recorder Friend. Her door is ALWAYS open to the public. If I were able I would be the first to vote for her. Here’s to RE-ELECTING TRACEY ...
