The Humane Society of the Ohio Valley will host the Marietta Chamber of Commerce's Business After Hours in May at our facility, 90 Mount Tom Road, Marietta.
From 5-7 p.m. May 11, the doors will be open for self-guided tours of the shelter, snacks, drinks, and fun.
The MACC notes Business After Hours is a monthly mixer that showcases the host business. It is an opportunity to bring people into the place of business and demonstrate services and products.
Guests can mix and mingle with other area professional and businesspeople.
We appreciate the support of the community and local businesses.
We want to give a little back and show appreciation by hosting a fun event. Visitors can enjoy a Shaggy Style Club Sandwich and Scooby Snacks, as well as a variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, including Pitbull Punch -- "Our dogs don't bite, but our punch might."
There will also be a gun raffle, designer purse raffle and lottery ticket treat bags.
A professional trainer will be on site to answer questions and offer free help regarding pets, and volunteers will be walking dogs and cuddling cats. We are celebrating our 10th year being a no kill shelter thanks to the community.
Along with the animal themed decor, there will be a photo booth and props for those amateur photographers. A polaroid camera will be available to print photos taken at the booth.

"The purpose of the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley shall be to promote the welfare of the animals within greater Washington County, Ohio in the following manner: provide a safe haven for stray, lost and /or abused animals through operating an animal shelter; educate the communities served by the society on the need for humane care of animals, the need for animal population control, the relief of animal suffering, and the services offered by the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley."
We will also investigate and prosecute complaints of animal abuse and neglect as permitted by the Ohio Revised Code and provide for the adoption of animals by people who can demonstrate that they will provide care consistent with the purposes of the society.
