Those things that were important to us when our children were young have made some major changes since then.
It is our duty to guide and teach them. It becomes our duty even before they attend school. Even though we are not educated teachers, the parents are the ones they come in contact with first and must listen to. Having children is a big responsibility and an entire life of guiding, teaching and advising them in every respect possible. Hopefully when they get older they will appreciate what we did for them.
When we have children it is not only the excitement and anticipation of having a newborn but also our responsibility to see the miracle we brought into this world is safe and taught to be a good citizen. This is at least how I think and agree and hope that the majority of parents reading this think as I do.
Soon, kids are ready to go back to school with school shopping for new outfits and school supplies with parents looking forward to a successful year.
Many parents are thrilled and happy to see them back in the classroom while others are saddened that they are not at home all day long.
Teachers and principals have a big responsibility, dealing with all the different things taking place in our country today such as the drug situation, bullying, morals and personalities. A big variety and methods must be used to take care of all personalities and wants of different children coming from many different backgrounds.
Keep in mind that you are in charge before your child starts school and meets his classmates and teachers. You as the parent must be first to instruct and teach them your expectations for them.
I also highly recommend getting them involved in activities besides school such as sports, church, music, etc., to aid in the total development of the child.
