Raising a child is not easy nowadays but every parent or couple tries their best to raise their child to the best of their ability. How many times have you heard people remark that "if that were my child I would do something different?" However when they have their own child things are different and a new attitude seems to develop.
We must all remember that a child is a gift from God so do not try to mold your child after yourself or any other person. Each child is an individual and with their own personality. Do not crush or compare them to another child when something they try does not work out or fails.
Discipline your child with firmness and fairness. (You will gain his trust if he realizes you are being and judging him with fairness.)
Never dispute things with your mate in front of your child which can create an emotional conflict with your child and yourself and create a feeling of guilt.
Avoid handing and providing anything and everything your child desires but rather make them responsible and self satisfaction of earning things they want,
Communicating with your child is also very important and let them know that it is also possible at times for mom and dad to make mistakes.
Do not make threats or promises especially when you are in an angry mood and then make only promises that you are able to live up to.
A child looks up to their parents and they mean the entire world to them and the last thing you want to do is to have them lose faith in this.
Express your love for your child day in and day out everyday which will build confidence and feeling of security in your child. Always keep trying to build confidence, respect, honor and honesty within your child and good citizenship with faith in God always.
Some things that might be helpful to teach your children while they are enjoying the summer and out of school -- be kind to everyone, smile, share with others, take turns, invite others to play and always use your good manners and respect for everyone.
BE THE NICE KID
Some kids are smarter than you.
Some kids have cooler clothes than you.
Some kids are better at sports than you.
It doesn't matter.
You have your thing too.
Be the kid who can get along.
Be the kid who is generous.
Be the kid who is happy for other people.
Be the kid who does the right thing.
Till next month.
