Don’t wait for school to teach your children

By Kiki Angelos

So many things we can teach our children at home, but we take it for granted that they learn them in school.

Patience teaches discipline

Many successful people reached their dreams later in life, proving it’s never too late to pursue what truly matters. Teach your child every step they take toward their goal, no matter how small, keeps their dreams alive. Age, circumstances or past mistakes can never erase your passion for something that you want to accomplish in life.

As long as you stay focused, work hard and believe in yourself, have patience and have discipline, the right time will come for your dreams to come alive

Motivation

Motivation is very important and pushes us to move ahead. Motivation helps us stay focused and positive during difficult times. I believe that with strong motivation, challenges become easier and any success becomes possible, regardless of how old you are. Young or old, it’s very important that we have confidence in ourselves.

Reading

We should teach our children from a young age to read. Take them to the library, let them pick their favorite books, and start reading with them. It’s very important that when they read, they understand, so in between, ask them questions.

I personally think reading is one of the most important skills for a child and for learning and personal development. The more you read, the more you learn. It improves everyone’s knowledge and builds your vocabulary.

Reading can be both educational and entertaining, and also provide relaxation and enjoyment for some.

If you practice reading regularly along with your children, they can improve their concentration and memory.

Success

I always say success is a result of hard work. Of course, it doesn’t come overnight, but through effort and dedication.

If you believe in yourself and work hard, you move closer to your dreams. True success is not only achieving goals. If you fail, try again and never give up.

Real success brings self satisfaction and make us feel good inside. Every challenge teaches us an important lesson and make us stronger for sure .

Kids need to know not to say, “I can’t do this” or “I am unlucky.” But instead, teach them to say, “I’m motivated and have big dreams” or “I’m getting stronger every day, that way I can reach my goal.”

Life is full of surprises, and if we believe in ourselves and have a positive attitude, we can achieve a lot.

You see there’s so many things our little angels can learn from as parents .

I thought about something else, and that is not only for children, but for adults as well.

Have you ever thought how important a smile is? A smile, it’s a small thing, but it makes others feel happy and comfortable, and also spreads kindness.

Kids need to smile more often. Kids need to laugh, because when we laugh, we feel more relaxed and confident. It also reduces stress and builds good relationships

A smile doesn’t cost anything, and it can turn a bad day into a better one to someone. It’s priceless, so we need to smile more and share happiness with everyone around us.

Have you talked to your child about work and that money doesn’t grow on trees? If not, now is the time.

Hard work is the key to success in life. Start them at a young age and at home to do small things. Trust me, you are doing them a favor. Talent is important, but hard work is more important.

No dream can come true without hard work. Through it, we learn to appreciate things more, and life in general, and it makes us responsible.

Even if something doesn’t turn out as good as we expected, hard work makes us better individuals. Tell them that no one will make fun of them, and if they do, it is because they are jealous.

P.S. Don’t forget Saturday to take the family to see the Easter Parade. We have entertainment for everyone, young and old. It starts at 2 p.m. in downtown Parkersburg. You can see the parade from 13th and Market streets all the way to the courthouse.
