Skyler Davis added to Marietta College softball coaching staff

Marietta College head softball coach Jenn Castle has announced the hiring of Skyler Davis as the new Pioneers’ assistant coach.

“We are so fortunate to find a person like Coach Davis to step into the assistant position role,” said Castle. “She brings a lot of knowledge and experience but shares the same values and goals that our program has developed over the years.”

Davis replaces Bri Finck, who took a position working as Club Director for the Boys and Girls Club in Wooster, Ohio.

“As a program, we were fortunate to have Bri guide our players for many years,” said Castle. “She progressed from a student-athlete to an associate head coach and had a deep understanding of Marietta. Bri played a pivotal role in building our team to its current state, and I am confident that Skyler will continue our development.”

Davis comes to Marietta after finishing up a successful playing career at McKendree University. In her two years with the Bearcats, Davis batted .305 in 86 games and regularly played first base. She collected 17 doubles and five home runs, driving in 36 runs in her career. In her senior campaign, Davis did not commit a single error in 55 chances.

“Skyler brings a high knowledge of hitting and will be able to build upon our current hitting philosophies and bring some new ideas,” continued Coach Castle. “She is a student of the game and brings a lot of passion for a healthy winning culture.”

Although this is her first collegiate coaching position, Davis has worked in a capacity to help players improve their skills in the past. She worked as a Hitting and Fielding Instructor for Cate’s Cages in Richmond, Indiana, where she instructed and worked with kids ages 5-15 on hitting, fielding, and throwing mechanics. She also coached the Indiana Shockwaves Rayman 16u travel team.

Originally from Muncie, Indiana, Davis graduated from McKendree University in May of 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Business and, just this last December, completed a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee-Martin.

Starting at $2.99/week.
