Mile 0.2 is near and dear to us all, as runners and walkers will pass by the Parkersburg News and Sentinel building. Established in 2009 when the town’s two newspapers The Parkersburg News and The Parkersburg Sentinel combined to form the Parkersburg News and Sentinel, the newspaper dates back to the 1800s. This cornerstone of the community has sponsored the races since 2002, with dozens of other sponsors helping. The race is planned and prepared at the newspaper.

The News and Sentinel Half Marathon and Two-Mile Race will be held Aug. 16.
