CALDWELL -- Mea Hendershot finished with 11 points and four steals to lead Caldwell past Rosecrans 60-13 Tuesday.
The Redskins improved to 6-2 and will play host to Crooksville Friday.
Colie Arick added 10 points for Caldwell, which also got nine points and eight rebounds from Lyla Lowe and nine points, six assists and four steals from Breighlee Moracco. Laynie Sidwell added six points and a game-high five steals while Lexi Franklin chipped in six points as well.
Parkersburg Catholic 102, Calhoun County 22
MT. ZION -- Sixteen months after getting hired as Parkersburg Catholic's head girls basketball coach, Bob Carr has picked up his first victory.
After not having a team last year due to lack of players, the Crusaderettes defeated Calhoun County 102-22 Tuesday to claim win No. 1 of the season.
Catholic (1-1) got 24 points from Bryley Starkey, 23 from Ellie Kinnison, 18 from Annie Tokodi-Ruth and 16 from Seneca Lang.
Caroline Wynn chipped in eight points for PCHS, which visits Wahama Thursday. Catholic led 22-5 after one, 48-11 at halftime and 78-18 after three.
Calhoun (0-5) was led by Faith McClain's nine points. Strangely enough, Calhoun also lost Ritchie County last week by the exact same score -- 102-22.
Boys
Parkersburg 63, St. Albans 60
ST. ALBANS -- Brogan Samms put up a game-high 31 points for St. Albans, but Parkersburg's balanced offensive attack proved to be too much for the Red Dragons as the Big Reds claimed a 63-60 victory Tuesday.
PHS (1-1) got 21 points from Chandler Jackson, 18 from Quinton Wilson and nine from Jaxon Thomas. Mathias Williams and Karson Gooch chipped in six points apiece for Parkersburg, which trailed 14-12 after one but tied it up at 31-all by halftime. The Big Reds, who visit South Charleston Friday, outscored SAHS 17-10 in the third to take a 48-41 advantage into the final eight minutes.
Samms knocked down five 3-pointers to lead St. Albans (0-1). Brayden Smith added nine and Zay Hall chipped in eight for the Red Dragons.
