Marietta’s Brady McManaway earns third team All-American honors
Marietta College senior linebacker Brady McManaway was named to the D3football.com All-American team Monday afternoon. McManaway capped his career in the Navy Blue and White by earning third team All-American honors.
“Brady embodies everything it means to be a Pioneer,” newly appointed Marietta head coach Tom Hinkle said. “He has worked his tail off to be the best teammate, leader, and player he can be and I’m glad others now recognize that. I’m excited to see how he attacks life here in a few short months because if I know Brady, he will be successful no matter what he does.”
McManaway led the Pioneers with 91 tackles this fall posting 32 solo and 59 assisted tackles. He was third in the Ohio Athletic Conference in total tackles and led the league in tackles for a loss with 13.5 on the season. McManaway led Marietta and was third in the OAC with three fumble recoveries.
“We are so proud of Brady and all that he accomplished in his senior season,” former Marietta head coach Tom Kaufman said. “Brady is a natural leader and a talented playmaker. He was also one of our toughest players. Anytime we needed a play on defense, we could always count on Brady. Congratulations Brady!”
McManaway started the fall by earning preseason All-American honors from D3football.com and went on to earn first team All-OAC, first team All-Region, and third team All-American accolades. He is a three-time All-OAC honoree and earned All-Region recognition twice.
Marietta finished the season with a 5-5 overall record and went 3-5 in the OAC.
