Hoops roundup: Cadets fall to unbeaten Zeps in OT
SARAHSVILLE — Fort Frye pushed Shenandoah to its limit, but in the end, the Zeps remained perfect.
The Cadets outscored SHS 21-13 in the fourth to rally and force overtime, but the Zeps won the extra session 12-6 to claim a 66-60 victory and improve to 10-0.
Fort Frye, which dropped to 9-2, trailed 13-9 after one, 26-19 at halftime and 41-33 after three. Rae Morgenstern and Ava Huffman scored 14 points apiece to lead the Cadets, while Jantzyn Huck added 11 and Aubrie Lang chipped in 10. Leading scorer Ella Dowler was held to five points.
Shenandoah, which out-rebounded FFHS 30-15, got a game-high 23 points from Brenna Leach. Emily Moore added 15, Emma Dailey tallied 14 and Molly Van Fleet chipped in nine.
The Zeps, who visit Meadowbrook Wednesday, finished 21 for 41 at the free-throw line compared to 15 for 21 for the Cadets.
Fort Frye will look to snap a two-game skid Monday at Warren.

Warren 66, Nelsonville-York 60
ALBANY — After a slow start, Warren turned things up a notch and came away with a 66-60 victory over Nelsonville-York Saturday at Alexander’s Spartan Classic.
The Warriors (4-5) trailed 8-5 after one but scored 23 points apiece in the second and third quarters to carry a 51-48 advantage into the fourth quarter. WHS outscored the Buckeyes 15-12 over the final eight minutes to prevail.
Jackson Perdue’s game-high 23 points fueled Warren, which will visit Fort Frye Tuesday. Blake Grimes and Hudson Elzey added 10 points each for the Warriors, while Caleb Tullius tallied eight and Liam Grosselin chipped in seven.
NYHS (4-5) received 21 points from Gavin Lavy, 10 from Weston Wheatley, nine from Cameron Sullivan and seven from Bean Martin.
