Marietta College accepted head baseball coach Brian Brewer’s resignation Wednesday, according to a representative from the school who declined to comment further.

Brewer’s name has been removed from the team’s roster on Marietta College’s athletics website. Bill Mosca is listed as the acting head coach.

The Pioneers are slated to begin the 2026 campaign at 3 p.m. today when they take on SUNY Cortland in Greensboro, NC.

Brewer amassed 682 wins in 22 seasons as MC’s skipper from 2004 to 2025. He guided the Etta Express to NCAA Division III national championships in 2006, 2011 and 2012. The program won nine Ohio Athletic Conference championships and made 14 NCAA tournament appearances under his leadership.

Brewer coached 16 players at Marietta who went on to play professionally.

During his coaching career, he racked up several accolades — OAC Don Schaly Coach of the year (1998, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2021), Mideast Region Coach of the Year (2006, 2007, 2011, 2012, 2022) and D3 National Coach of the Year (2006, 2011, 2012).

Last year, Marietta finished with a record of 18-20 and missed out on the postseason.

Prior to joining Marietta’s coaching staff as an assistant in 2000, Brewer was the head coach at John Carroll from 1996 to 1999.

Brewer played for the Etta Express from 1990 to 1993 and helped lead the team to two D3 College World Series appearances.

Director of Athletics Larry Hiser declined to comment.
