MC men’s golf second at Spring Preview
WEST LAFAYETTE — The Marietta College men’s golf team tied for second place at the Ohio Athletic Conference Spring Preview Thursday afternoon at the par-72 River Greens Golf Club.
Ohio Northern carded a 5-under-par team score of 283 to win the event. Marietta and Otterbein tied for second with a score of 295. Mount Union placed third with a score of 296, followed by Otterbein B (299), Ohio Northern B (304), Baldwin Wallace (305), Capital B (313), Capital (314), Heidelberg (316), Muskingum (319), Heidelberg B (322), and Mount Union B (323).
Ohio Northern’s Zach Butler and Mount Union’s Brian Myers tied atop the leaderboard with identical 4-under-par rounds of 68. Zach Huscusson and Andrew Korner led the Pioneers with even par rounds of 72 finishing tied for sixth.
Hunter Wilson tied for 19th with a score of 75. Kelson McCurdy was one stroke behind Wilson with a 76, good for a tie of 26th place. Mason Reville rounded out the Pioneer lineup with a score of 81.
Marietta is right back on the course Friday and Saturday at the Polar Beaver Classic being cohosted by Ohio Northern and Bluffton. Friday will be played at Hidden Creek Golf Course, while Saturday will be contested at Colonial Golfers Club.
