For the second time in less than 10 days, the Marietta Tigers spotted their arch-rival Warren Warriors a big lead only to come roaring back to even things up or take the lead.
Last week in Vincent the Tigers rallied all the way back from a 10-run deficit to stun the Warriors 12-11.
On Wednesday night at Legion Field, the Tigers spotted Warren five early runs only to come back to tie the game up before the game was forced to be suspended due to darkness with the two tied 8-8.
The Tigers had a chance to pick up a last inning win once again but came up short as they left the bases loaded in the final inning.
Marietta played some shoddy defense early on just as they did in Vincent and once again the Warriors took full advantage as they scored five unearned runs to chase Marietta starting pitcher Owen Warden in the second inning.

With one out, Saben Jones got the inning started by drawing a walk and moved to second when Aiden Lipscomb reached base on a Tiger error.
Center fielder Carter Strong walked to load the bases and came into score when the MHS infield committed their second error of the inning.
Left fielder Cody Eding picked up the Warriors’ first hit of the game to produce the second run of the inning and lead-off man and starting pitcher Braylen Murray walked to force in another run.
Third baseman Tate Jonas capped the inning by drilling a double to left center field that plated a pair of runs and gave the visitors 5-0 lead.
The Kail Hill-coached Tigers would waste little time responding as they reached Murray for a pair of runs in the bottom of the second.

Marietta did all of their damage after two hitters had been retired as first baseman Carter Hutchinson singled, moved to second when second baseman Zach Birge was hit by a pitch and both runners scored when Seth Goeller drilled a triple into the left-center field gap to cut the lead to 5-2.
The Tigers brought Jeremiah Loughery in to relieve Warden in the second inning and Warren touched him up for a pair of runs in the top of the third.
Lipscomb singled and moved to second when Carter Strong reached when the Tigers committed another error on his sacrifice bunt.
An infield ground-out by Will Carte scored the first run before Strong came in to score on a Tiger wild pitch to make it 7-3.
Marietta went quietly in the third inning but scored three times in the bottom of the fourth to make it a two-run game.
Loughery and Hutchinson got the inning started with back-to-back singles and Birge reached on fielder’s choice.
Goeller then came through in a big way once again as he rocketed yet another triple deep into left field to score two more runs and draw the Tigers to within three.
Will Tornes and Chidester walked to load the bases, but Murray got Eli McLeish to ground out, producing another Tiger run before getting the final out of the inning to keep the lead at two.
Warren added a solo run in the top of the fifth on hits by Eding, his third of the game, and Tate Jonas to take an 8-5 lead into the bottom of the fifth.
The Warriors would make just one error in the game, but that miscue would prove costly as Warden led off the fifth by reaching on the error.
One out later, Hutchinson singled for his third hit of the game before Birge laid down a perfect bunt with Warden sliding home safely to cut the lead to two.
Goeller picked up his third hit of the game and his fifth RBI when he singled to score Hutchinson.
Tornes then lined an opposite field double to left field to score Birge and tie the game at 8-8.
After beginning the game at shortstop, Tornes came into pitch and retired the Warriors in order in the top of the sixth.
Marietta went down in order in the bottom of the sixth sending the game to the seventh inning with darkness rapidly falling on the field which no longer has working lights.
Carte led off the seventh for Warren with a base hit and moved to second on a wild pitch.
After Tornes whiffed Eding to retire him for the first time in the game, the Tigers elected to walk Murray intentionally to set up the possibility of a double play.
Tornes walked Jayce Hilverding to load the bases but rallied back big time as he fanned both Jonas and Haiden Strong to leave the bases loaded and give his team a chance at a walk-off win.
With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Goeller reached base for the fifth straight time when he was hit by a pitch and he promptly stole second.
Warren walked Tornes intentionally before Chidester, who stroked the game winning hit last week in Vincent, lined a shot up the middle that glanced off of Jonas’ leg for an infield hit to load the bases.
Jonas was able to fan Eli McLeish for the second out of the inning, bringing center fielder Owen Riley to the plate.
Riley worked a 3-2 count before grounding out to second base to end the inning and leave the winning run stranded at third
At that point the umpires had no choice but to suspend the game for safety precautions. The two teams will work on finding a date to pick the game up in the eighth inning where it was suspended.
Warren will be back in action Thursday as they host Meigs while the Tigers travel to Morgan on Saturday for a double header.
