TULSA, Okla. – Former Parkersburg Catholic High School and Marshall University pitcher Patrick Copen was named Pitcher of the Month for the Texas League (Class AA) after producing a 3-0 record and a 0.96 earned-run average for the Tulsa Drillers in April.

In five starts, Copen allowed three earned runs over 28 innings of work for the Los Angeles Dodgers farm club. He led the league in strikeouts with 37 and led the league in average against at .149.

Copen opened the month with a streak of 12 â…” scoreless innings and finished the month without allowing an earned run in his last 12 â…” innings.

The 24-year-old right-hander was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the seventh round of the 2023 MLB Draft.
