Liedtke Approved at Shenandoah

Longtime area high school basketball coach Dan Liedtke is taking over as the Shenandoah varsity boys head coach.

Liedtke, who amassed 759 wins in four decades at Fort Frye between the boys and girls programs, was approved by the Noble Local Board of Education during its regular meeting Tuesday.

After coaching four different Cadets teams to the Final Four in his career, Liedtke takes over a Zeps team looking to bounce back from a four-win 2025-26 campaign.

District Baseball Games PPD

A pair of Washington County baseball teams hoping to advance in the district tournament will have to wait another day to play.

Due to ongoing rain, Fort Frye and Warren both had their district semifinal games moved from Wednesday to today.

Fort Frye will play host to Caldwell at 5 p.m. today while Warren will take on Hillsboro at 2 p.m. at Ohio University’s Bob Wren Stadium in Athens.

Both teams are scheduled to play again on Friday in the district finals should they advance.
