Former Marietta High School Tiger Navy rowers Madison Lovejoy, Hannah Lovejoy, Lucy Scott and Maureen Caslow competed over the weekend at Lake Lanier in Georgia at the Division I NCAA National Championship. Hannah Lovejoy (Senior) and Madison Lovejoy (Freshman) competed for University of Central Florida and finished 16th overall as a team. Scott (Senior) and Caslow (Sophomore) competed for Ohio State University and finished 14th as a team.

“All four athletes were truly exceptional Tigers and that is clearly evident given their success competing at the highest level of collegiate sport,” said MHS rowing coach Tanner O’Connor. “It is a rare achievement for an athlete from the Mid-Ohio Valley to compete at the Division I level. This year we had four athletes out of Marietta not only competing on scholarship at Power 4 D1 institutions, but finishing ranked inside the top 25.

“For over 60 years, Marietta High School rowing has been sending athletes to compete at the highest level with athletes rowing for schools like Yale, Harvard, Ohio State, Clemson, Alabama, MIT, and many others. We currently have five athletes competing at the DI level (Ohio State, Central Florida, Louisville).”
