CAMBRIDGE -- A 46-year-old Marietta High boys golf record has been broken.
Anthony Discini, a sophomore for the Tigers, played bogey-free golf on the way to carding a 64 to earn Medalist honors during the Meadowbrook Invitational Monday at Cambridge County Club.
The previous MHS record was 65, set by Andy Wentis in 1980 at Scioto Country Club.
Discini shot a 33 on the front 9 and a 31 on the back. In addition to overall Medalist, he was also the big school flight Medalist. The Tigers finished second as a team in the big school flight with a total score of 317. Discini's teammate, Keaton Mace, shot an 80 to finish in the top 10 at the event.
Marietta will take on Parkersburg South at 4 p.m. today at Woodridge Golf Course.
