Fort Frye avenged an early-season loss to Marietta on Thursday at Sutton Gymnasium.

Back on Aug. 27, the Cadets fell to the Tigers in five sets after letting a 2-0 lead slip away. In Thursday's rematch, it was Fort Frye which bounced back from an opening-set loss and rallied to win in five sets.

The Cadets dropped a hard-fought first (24-26) and third (26-28) set, but dominated in sets two (25-13), four (25-10) and five (15-3).

FFHS libero Jantzyn Huck finished with an impressive 58 digs in the match while Evalynn Wagner tallied 20. Haven Shilling led the Cadets with 23 kills, followed by Kali Shilling with 16, Elle Casto with 10 and Ella Dowler with nine. Aubrie Lang put the ball in good spots for her hitters throughout the night, dishing out 32 assists and notching 21 digs.

Fort Frye did a nice job defending the Tigers around the net. Adeline Willey posted a team-high six blocks, followed by Dowler with five and Casto and Emma Lockhart with four apiece. Casto led Fort Frye with nine aces while Addie Schob chipped in 12 digs.

Fort Frye improved to 12-5 and visits Waterford on Monday on "Dig for a Cure" night. The Tigers dropped to 13-4 and will welcome St. Albans on Tuesday
