McFarland Aces MCC Brian McFarland, of Marietta, got his second hole-in-one on hole No. 17 at Marietta Country Club. McFarland aced the 127-yard hole using a pitching wedge. Witnesses were Bill McFarland, “Coach” Joe Matheny and Scott Barrows. Sovil Aves GCWV Zack Sovil, of Parkersburg, recorded his first ever hole-in-one at the Golf Club of West Virginia. Sovil aced hole No. 12, a 135-yard par 3, using a sand wedge. The shot was witnessed by his playing partner Riley Garrison.

This week, the Big 12 Conference had meetings for several sports, including women's and men's basketball and football. All three of West Virginia's coaches for those three sports were representatives for the coaches for the conference. Some of the biggest topics came after the football meetings.
