Christmas tour: Parkersburg’s Julia-Ann Square Historic District opens homes Dec. 2

PARKERSBURG — The annual Julia-Ann Square Historic District Holiday Home Tours will be Dec. 2, 3 and 4 in the downtown Parkersburg neighborhood.

Proof of ticket purchase, whether printed or on a mobile device, is required for entry. Ticket prices are $18 for Friday and Saturday tours, with a maximum of 30 per group. The tickets for the self-guided tours on Sunday are $15. Children 10 and under are admitted free with a paying adult. Tickets are available at www.greaterparkersburg.com, the site for the Greater Parkersburg Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The home locations are: Smith-Corder House at 1125 Juliana St.; Acton-Tucker House at 940 Juliana St.; Caswell-Smith House at 1024 Juliana St.; Leach-Nicholson House 1214 Ann St.; and Wade-Critzer House at 1034 Ann St.

All guided tours begin at First United Methodist Church at 1001 Juliana St., with participants asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to the listed tour time.

• Friday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m. — Candlelight guided home tour with cookies and cocoa by the fire pit at the church.

• Saturday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m. — Guided home tour with tea and cookies at the church.

• Saturday, Dec. 3, at 3 p.m. — Guided home tour with tea and cookies at the church.

• Saturday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. — Guided candlelight home tour with tea and cookies at the church.

• Sunday, Dec. 4, from 1-4 p.m. — Self-guided home tour. People can start at any of the houses and, if they haven’t ordered a ticket in advance, they can purchase it there.
