Marietta, Beverly receive state funds for recreation

This afternoon Gov. Mike DeWine announced an Appalachian Community Grant award for the city of Marietta and the Village of Beverly.

Marietta will receive $9.4 million to improve the city's Ohio Riverfront (Levee) Park including a retaining wall, boat ramp and an amphitheater right on the river. The Village of Beverly will receive $1.2 million to install a marina to enhance recreation and provide access to its downtown area.

These awards are part of Ohio's "wonderful waterfront initiative."
