Area Mid-Ohio Valley baseball and softball programs wishing to participate in the weekly statistical leaders are asked to send in full cumulative season to date stats by 3 p.m. each Monday to jbennett@newsandsentinel.com and jholland@mariettatimes.com.

39th Annual Ohio River Basketball Camp

The 39th Annual Ohio River Basketball Camp will be held June 8-11 at Ravenswood High School.

The camp is for boys and girls entering grades 2-8 and will be held from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. each day. The camp is geared for boys and girls who have definite goals of improving their individual skills and have a desire to play the great game of basketball.

The camp is divided into three divisions (Grades 3-4, 5-6 & 7-8) in which campers will learn the game of basketball and compete in many skills development areas.

Thirty-six counselors and 10 highly qualified coaches will staff the camp. Four basketball courts located on the campus at RHS will be used during the camp. The camp features games, prizes, awards, competitions and guest speakers throughout the week. Outstanding instruction will enhance each child’s development during the four days. Each participant will receive a camp certificate, a camp T-shirt and a basketball. The camp will conclude on Thursday at 11 a.m. with our “parade of champions” at The Pit. The camp cost is $70.

Wirt County Sideliners Golf Scramble

The Wirt County Sideliners and the Wirt County High School football team will be holding their annual golf scramble on Saturday, June 6, at Mingo Bottom Golf Course.

Tee times will start at 9 a.m. Cost is $260 per team, $65 per player. There will be cash prizes for first ($400), second ($200) and third place ($100). There will be 50/50 and closest-to-the-pin prizes.

We also have a $5,000 hole-in-one prize on hole No. 10 and some very nice prizes for a hole-in-one on all other par 3 holes.

Free food and drinks will be provided.
