WATERFORD — Gavin Hiener hauled in three of Avery Pottmeyer’s four touchdown passes and Waterford’s defense pitched a shutout to beat Vinton County 36-0 in Friday’s season opener. Hiener had TD receptions of 21, 29 and 7 yards to finish with 57 stripes on three receptions. Hayden Jones, who found the end zone twice, caught a 74-yard TD pass from Pottmeyer and also ran for a 62-yard score. DENVER (AP) — DeMar DeRozan has agreed to sign a one-year contract with the Denver Nuggets worth the veteran minimum of $3.9 million, a person with knowledge of the deal said Friday.
