Noble Local Schools robotics teams qualify for world championships

SARAHSVILLE -- Noble Local Schools will send two teams to the 2026 VEX World Championships in St. Louis through the Shenandoah Zeps Robotics program.
The event follows up the students' performance at the Ohio VEX V5RC State Championship in the beginning of the month.
Team 43779Z, which includes high school students Bryce Jacobs, Ryland Wehr, Ethan Stritz, and Jaiden Dean, qualified for world championships.
Their score of 152 in the skills challenge ranked them twelfth in Ohio and earned them a spot in world championships.
Middle school team 43779X includes Preston Conaway, Lane Hill, Xzavyer Beldean, and Kaylin Hupp with a skills score of 60.
Their score earned them eleventh place for the state division and a spot in the world championships in Missouri with the high school team.
Although they fell short of qualifying, the all-freshman team 43779P, with Landyn Wehr, Gabe Neff, Brant Stottsberry, and Luke Thompson, qualified for states with an 8-0 record. They were second in the divisional semifinals.
Coach Jon Jordan recognized team 43779E with Roman McGee, Teigon Dodd, Dakota Harding, and Rylan Leasure, who were sixteenth in the tournament rounds and team 43779S, Rocco McGee, Colton Tisher, and Jaylin Winegardner for their perseverance through the competitions.
"For almost all these students, it was their first time competing at the HS state championships," said Jordan. "There are a lot of lessons learned and students are already talking about how to improve. That's the type of students we have."
Due to the registration, travel, lodging, and equipment transport costs, Zeps Robotics has asked local businesses and community members to help support the program.
