BELPRE -- The construction of the kidney care clinic in Belpre is expected to be completed by the end of the year with patients starting to be treated in early 2018.
The 7,000-square-foot kidney dialysis clinic is being built for Fresenius Kidney Care along the 500 block of Main Street across from the Ark Church.
"Construction is anticipated to be completed in December 2017," said Sharon DeLuca, Fresenius Kidney Care Director of Operations.
"We anticipate we'll be open and ready for patients in February 2018."
The building is being constructed by Conger Construction Company of Lebanon, Ohio.
The center will have 10 dialysis stations and services being offered include in-center hemodialysis, which provides the reassurance of staff-assisted treatment and labs all in one place, and at-home dialysis, which offers patients greater independence, convenience and health benefits, DeLuca said.
Also included will be individual TVs in each station with cable or satellite TV service; private areas; internet access; and reclining treatment chairs.
The Belpre center will also feature Fresenius' KidneyCare:365 class. This free program helps people learn about kidney health, eating well, thriving with CKD and their treatment choices.

The center will be independent from the area's hospitals.
Fresenius chose the Belpre location so their local team of expert medical professionals can better serve the Belpre area's growing dialysis community, DeLuca said.
The center's medical director will be Dr. Abdul Zanabli, a local physician, and it is expected to create around eight new jobs for the area.
