Hocking County man killed in crash

LOGAN -- A Hocking County man was killed in a head-on collission Saturday morning on Ohio 595 in Hocking County, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Christopher J. Good, 44, of Carbon Hill was driving south on Route 595 in a 2008 Toyota Yaris when he was struck head-on by a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche that had traveled left of center while northbound on Route 595, the Athens Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said. The Avalanche was driven by Mindi C. Clark, 38, of Logan.

Good was pronounced dead on the scene by the Hocking County Coroner's Office, the patrol said. A juvenile passenger in Good's vehicle was taken to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital by the Hocking County EMS where she was treated and released with non-incapacitating injuries, the patrol said.

Clark also was taken to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital by Hocking County EMS with non-incapacitating injuries and was treated and released, the patrol said.

The accident happened shortly before 9 a.m. on Route 595 south of Stout Road, the patrol said.

Troopers were assisted by the Logan Fire Department, Hocking County Coroner's Office and the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The accident remains under investigation.
